A pupil from the PRU started his responsible fire-lighting journey and had a brilliant session this term. Following on from Fire Safety and Fire Triangle revision, he independently prepared his firewood, gathered various sources of tinder, persevered with his flint and steel, ignited his first tinder bundle and then created a ‘tepee-style’ fire.

Before the recent floods, students attending our outdoor education centre have been making the most of our riverside location to get some oar-some watersport experience. Pupils tackling the physical section of their Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme have been learning about Paddle sports and how to assess risk when in a water environment.
