
Estates Manager – Mark Shipman
Mark brings over forty years of strategic operational, engineering, compliance, and health and safety leadership to Respect Collaboration Trust. His career began in large scale manufacturing and global telecommunications, where he developed a disciplined, standards driven approach to safety, quality and organisational systems. This technical grounding now shapes his leadership of the Trust’s estate, ensuring all schools benefit from safe, efficient and well managed environments.
As Estates Manager, Mark provides strategic oversight of statutory compliance, health and safety governance, capital projects, lifecycle planning, security and fleet management. He has strengthened Trust wide processes, improved operational consistency, and embedded systems that enhance resilience, audit readiness and long-term sustainability. He also leads the acquisition and commissioning of new Trust buildings, ensuring each site meets compliance and safety standards before becoming operational. His leadership continues to drive improvements in contractor performance and supports schools in meeting regulatory requirements with confidence.
Mark is known for his calm, measured and solution focused leadership, providing clarity and reassurance during time critical or complex operational challenges. He offers clear guidance to senior leaders and site teams, translating detailed technical requirements into practical, deliverable actions. His work ensures the Trust estate remains safe, resilient and strategically aligned with the organisation’s commitment to delivering high quality learning environments for all pupils.
