Established in October 2025, the Respect Collaboration Trust comprises two Pupil Referral Units, a Special School, and four part-time Alternative Provisions: Hair and Beauty, Construction, Outdoor Education and Motor Vehicle. Although small in size serves a wide ranging population. We offer a variety of services that are designed to support the challenges the mainstream sector face. These include the quality assurance framework for Derby City, known locally as Junction 16 and an SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) advisory service.
Our work stemmed from Kingsmead School, Newton’s Walk, and The Kingsmead School, with the deliberate aim of creating clearer SEMH pathways for young individuals, ensuring a seamless continuum of provision across Derby City. It has been highly successful and has in recent years seen significant internal growth. In 2023 we created the Respect Collaboration of Schools with a vision to establish our own academy trust.
Creating Respect Collaboration Trust allows us to retain our identity but also share this with other schools, as in education we can ‘never give up’;
As our work continues to evolve, there’s a growing need for our specialist work and as educationalists we can learn a lot from the education sector and wider afield. Respect presents an opportunity for schools, local authorities, and academy trusts to work together to create a ‘better tomorrow’.
We ‘never give up’.
