Teamwork makes the dream work in Peaks

Year 11 pupils enjoyed three days in the Peak District ahead of their Mocks.

They developed the following skills towards their Prince’s Trust Qualification: Teamwork, communication, resilience, confidence, problem solving, independence and leadership.

Pupils have a splashing goodtime learning paddle sports

Before the recent floods, students attending our outdoor education centre have been making the most of our riverside location to get some oar-some watersport experience. Pupils tackling the physical section of their Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme have been learning about Paddle sports and how to assess risk when in a water environment. In their latest session, they have been practicing peer rescues, and how to assess the environment to keep each other safe.
